14th round of UPL: “Kolos” is waiting for “Shakhtar”. Match announcement

On Sunday, November 7, Kovalivka will host a match of the 14th round of the VBET League at 17:00, in which “Kolos” will meet the thirteen-time champions of Ukraine from Donetsk’ “Shakhtar” .

In the current 2021/2022 season, “Shakhtar” ranks 2nd (as of November 5, 2021).  Donetsk has 32 points (10 wins, two draws and one defeat).  The goal difference is 35:7.  Lag behind “Dynamo” - three points. “Kolos” has 11 points and eleventh place in the standings after twelve matches played (as well as a game with “Minaj” in reserve).

Last season, “Shakhtar” took second place in the standings, scoring 54 points - 16 wins, 6 draws and 4 defeats (goal difference 54-19).  The “pitmen” lagged behind “Dynamo” Kyiv by 11 points, and it was the Kyiv club that won the championship after a four-year break.  Also, “Shakhtar” has not been able to win the Ukrainian Cup for two seasons in a row.

After the end of last season, the team was left by the Portuguese specialist Luis Castro, and the Italian Roberto De Zerby was appointed head coach instead.

In the Champions League, “Shakhtar” plays in Group D and occupies the last, fourth place in the quartet (as of November 5, 2021).  Roberto De Zerby's team scored one point (0:0 with "Inter", and three defeats - from "Sheriff" 0:2 and twice from "Real" 0:5, 1:2).

“Kolos” and “Shakhtar” have met six times in official matches - four times in the 2019/2020 season (regular season + TOP-6) and twice in the 2020/2021 season.  The Donetsk team has five victories in these matches, but in the last face-to-face meeting (14th round of the UPL, February 14, 2021) the teams drew 0:0 at the “Dynamo” Stadium named after Valerii Lobanovsky.

Another 1:1 draw was recorded in the control match (September 5, 2019), and Volodymyr Lysenko scored for Kovalivka.

Vyacheslav Churko, a trainee of “Shakhtar” Donetsk Academy, plays for “Kolos”.  In addition to him, our defender Taras Sakiv also studied at the “Shakhtar” Academy.
