2nd round of UPL: "Kolos" beat "Metalist 1925" at home - 1: 0!

 The match started without the intelligence, the teams moved the ball quickly, responding to the attack. In the fourth minute Matija Rom made a dangerous pass from the right flank, and the goalkeeper of Kharkiv Denys Sydorenko from the second attempt fixed the ball. The guests answered - Batiushyn broke through the center, but Sakov knocked the ball into the corner. Then there was the first shot in the plane of the goal from "Kolos" - Nuriev scored from the middle distance, and Sydorenko reacted and took the ball.

Then it was already dangerous at our gate. Batiushyn opened up and threw the ball over Volynets, but Petrov secured it - Kyrylo knocked the ball out. In the 13th minute, the guests created a very good moment - after a pass from the corner Fabino headed past the goal. In response, Lysenko was hit from twenty meters above the goal. And in the middle of the first half, "Kolos" made three consecutive corners. After the second serve, Petrov hit his head, and after the third - Havrish. Unfortunately, past the gate.

Then Petrov created another danger. After a corner kick and a ricochet, our defender scored, and the ball flew near the post! In the 38th minute, after a corner kick, Volodymyr Lysenko scored with his head - above the goal. As a result, "Kolos" had a territorial advantage, but failed to score.

After the break, Kharkiv equalized the game, but Kovalivka's team attacked more sharply. Kostyshyn earned a free kick near the line of the visitors' penalty area. Bohdanov rolled the ball - Churko scored and earned a corner. And then there was a powerful blow from Bohdanov, after which Sidorenko made a save with his fists. Immediately Kostyshyn twisted the ball nicely - the goalkeeper of the guests took the ball in his hands.

But in the 71st minute there was a fateful substitution for "Kolos". Viacheslav Churko and Volodymyr Lysenko were replaced by Oleh Ilyin and Nika Sitchinava. And it was Ilyin together with Denys Kostyshyn who played a goal attack in two minutes - Ilyin made a shot, and Kostyshyn Jr. sent the ball into the net - 1: 0.

After the missed goal, the guests became more active, but our team kept the defense, although "Metalist 1925" still created some good opportunities. However, "Kolos" could double the advantage at the end of the game - Sitchinava had to score, twisting the ball into the far corner, unfortunately near the post.

The final whistle recorded the minimal victory of Ruslan Kostyshyn's team - after the second round we scored four points. The next game is on August 5 at "Kolos" Stadium in the UEFA Conference League qualifiers against "Shakhter" Kazakhstan. On a positive note, we are preparing for the first historic European Cup match in Kovalivka!
