"Kolos" lost to "Shakhter" in the penalty shootout and did not make it to the playoffs of the Conference League

In the return match of the Conference League qualifier, "Kolos" sadly lost to Kazakhstan's "Shakhter" in a penalty shootout.

In the first half, Kovalivka bet on an active start and from the starting minutes began to shake the defense of the Kazakhs. And in the eighth minute our team created a super-moment. Zolotov found Diego with a long pass, the Brazilian had to score, but shot in the center on Sitchinava. Buffalo still managed to knock the ball out from under the feet of our forward. In a couple of minutes, Diego was active again. After his high cross from the left flank, the home goalkeeper Shatskii overtook our players and took the ball.

Ruslan Kostyshyn's guys did not stop - in the 15th minute Zolotov earned a corner on the right flank. After Bohdanov's submission, the Kazakhs had a small fire, but the hosts fought back. In ten minutes, "Kolos" launched another quick counterattack. Zolotov intercepted the ball and found Milko. Vadym returned the pass to Zolotov, but Nikolai's ball fell off his leg and flew off the field.

Olegh Ilin was also active on his flank. In the middle of the half he made a high cross from the right flank on Sitchinava, but the referee recorded a foul in the attack of our forward. In a minute there was another promising attack by Kovalivka's team. Denys Kostyshyn broke through the center, but gave a slightly awkward pass to Sitchinava.

In general, in the first half we had a complete territorial advantage. The players were actively moving, but there were not enough shots on goal.

After the break, "Kolos" played number one again. A good attack took place from the start. Zolotov intercepted and passed to the home team's penalty area, where Kostyshyn and Sitchinava were. The Pitmen kicked the ball away. In the future, "Kolos" were very active, and the best moment was again with Diego. In the 59th minute, after a shot from the right flank by Ilin to the Brazilian against Mavutor, he sent the ball into the goal, but did not hit the frame!

Ruslan Kostyshyn immediately refreshed the team - Volodymyr Lysenko came out instead of Sitchinava, and Viacheslav Churko played instead of Diego. Frankly - at the "Astana Arena" there was a complete advantage of Kovalivka's team in possession of the ball. The hosts defended the whole team and closed all free zones. At the end of the second half, another fresh player came out - Anatolii Nuriiev replaced Denys Kostyshyn.

As a result, the main time ended in a draw 0: 0, and the game went into extra time.

In the extra time there was a neat game, because the big price of any mistake in such matches. Although, "Kolos" was more active and used the flanks to create danger. "Shakhter's" defense made no mistakes, and the game went into a penalty shootout.

In the football lottery, the hero was the Kazakh goalkeeper Ihor Shatskii, who repulsed as many as three shots from our players - Anatolii Nuriiev, V‘iacheslav Churko and Aleksandr Pavlovets. did not score.
