Women: Ukraine defeated Faroe Islands 4:0 in Kovalivka!

In the first match of the European qualification for the 2023 World Cup, the women's national team of Ukraine had no problems with the team of the Faroe Islands, beating rivals in Kovalivka 4:0.

At the “Kolos” Stadium, our team managed to gain a comfortable advantage in the first half.  In the 16th minute Kozlova closed Apanashchenko's serve with her head, and before the break after Shmatko's shot Kravchuk scored.  Shmatko and Apanashchenko also had scoring opportunities, but Kozlova did not realize a few moments.

In the second half of the game, the Ukrainians increased their own advantage.  In the 57th minute, Havanska threw from a depth, and Boychenko from the goal line sent the ball into the net.  Khimich soon struck past the "nine" in the fall.

Among the dangerous moments, the rivals can be noted only as a shot from Asli Johannessen from the penalty spot, with which the goalkeeper of "Kolos" Irina Sanina calmly coped.  In the 79th minute, the fourth goal of the Ukrainians after Kalinina's pass from the corner was scored by Korsun.  The blue-and-yellows could score, in particular, Khimich had several chances, and Kozlova hit the crossbar.  As a result, the blue and yellows stopped at 4:0.

On Tuesday, October 26, the Ukrainians will play their second qualifying match again in Kovalivka at the “Kolos” Stadium, now against the favorites - the Spanish team (starting at 17.00).
